PROJECTS

Reading is the first code.
Africa’s technological growth depends on solutions created by the very communities that experience the challenges. But if the young generation cannot read, how will they code?

This is the heart of EduCycling Africa.

Our core activity is to increase access to reading materials.

A reading mindset shift is essential for unlocking children’s learning potential. When families embrace reading as a daily habit, community libraries become functional, vibrant spaces rather than silent book stores. EduCycling Africa can be hired by schools, communities, and organisations to strengthen family-level reading practices and make existing libraries truly serve their purpose.

Road-use behaviour education is essential for safeguarding communities. In Uganda, Boda boda transport is the second-largest economic activity after agriculture, yet it remains the leading cause of road accidents. Boda boda riders should not lose their lives on the job, especially when many of these incidents are preventable through proper education and safer road practices.

Every kilometer cycled is converted into books, turning eco-friendly commuting into a movement that inspires passionate donors to support reading materials and family-based reading mindset programs. Join us and turn your ride into a catalyst for learning. You can join a community that finances reading.

Africa faces a critical deficit in foundational learning because millions of children grow up in book-poor environments.

To fix this, there is an urgent need to create a reading culture through investing in 15 minutes a day of active parent-child co-reading and community based children books access points to spark curiosity and early learning.

If homes and communities fail to become  child first learning environments, Africa’s human capital development and social economic future remains at risk.
